The Innovative SOft Skills to Maritime Education and Training (iSOL-MET) project, led by the University of the Aegean (Greece), focuses on creating a comprehensive curriculum of maritime skills courses for groups of multidisciplinary and multicultural students – through a case study methodology – aiming to bridge the gap between the demands of the maritime world and the needs of maritime university students and professionals.

The consortium, composed of the University of the Aegean Sea (Greece), the Naval Academy Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov (Bulgaria), the TC Piri Reis University (Türkiye), the Maritime University of Constanta (Romania), from the Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland), PPP Learn (Greece), and the CPMR – through its Balkan and Black Sea Commission (BBSC), should design a collection of case study manuals , non-technical skills assessment tools based on the Assessment Center concept, to ensure the link between the academic world and industry, and therefore contribute to making maritime professions more attractive and competitive.

This multiplier event aims to present the state of play, the challenges ahead and the perspective of young people, and to discuss with representatives of EU institutions and key stakeholders ways to encourage cooperation between a wide range of stakeholders across Europe.
